The Different Types of Resin Coatings

The Different Types of Resin Coatings

Domestic resin flooring will protect your floor and look great while doing it. Resin floors are versatile, durable, and very easy to care for and clean; they will give your home or business the exact look you want at a very affordable price point. Here are some of the different types of resin coatings so you can find the one that works best for you!

Self-Dispersing Epoxy Flooring

This type of epoxy resin flooring is quick and easy to install, and requires no special equipment or skills. Your best bet for applying self-dispersing epoxy flooring is by using a squeegee. As its name suggests, a squeegee allows you to evenly disperse an even coat onto your floors in just one pass. A drop cloth will help keep your work area clean as well as collect any excess that might have been missed during application. This process can be completed by one person in just a few hours!

Self-levelling Epoxy Flooring

This kind of coating is used in residential and commercial settings. This is by far one of my favourite epoxy coatings because it’s so easy to install, and it can be used in just about any room of your home or business. The material itself looks very much like ceramic tile, but you’ll notice it’s a bit more flexible than ceramic tiles. This flexibility allows you to put down a number of coats without worrying about cracking, which would otherwise happen with regular tile.

Mortar Epoxy Flooring

Mortar epoxy is, as it sounds, an epoxy-based coating that is applied directly to a concrete floor. While both polyurethane and polyaspartic are also popular choices for floors, mortar epoxy features an application process that combines resin and hardener, then adds a catalyst before adding other materials such as sand or mica. The result is a higher-quality finish than polyurethane or polyaspartic can produce.

Epoxy Terrazzo Flooring

Terrazzo flooring can enhance nearly any space in your home or business. You can’t even imagine how gorgeous a well-done terrazzo floor will look, and it will last for decades if you choose a great installer. Terrazzo is made from small chips of marble that are layered over one another with epoxy glue to create incredibly textured floors. It’s beautiful, but it does require regular maintenance to keep looking its best!

Epoxy for Creative Design

Epoxy is a popular coating because it can be easily customised to your needs. Whether you want an original and unique design, or if you want to match an existing flooring in your home or business, we have what you need. Epoxy isn’t just for protecting floors; it is also great for design that makes a statement! No matter what look you are going for with your project, resin flooring will deliver the best results!
